Ten times ‘Tre Bicchieri’.

It is with great pleasure that we announce Ruggeri has been awarded the coveted ‘Tre Bicchieri’ in the 2019 Gambero Rosso Vini d’Italia guide.

This is particularly significant as it means Ruggeri is the first Prosecco producer to receive a Gambero Rosso Star (‘Stella’), only presented to wineries that have received 10 ‘Tre Bicchieri’ awards since the guide was first published. We are especially proud of our Star as it is a recognition of the quality not only of a single wine or year, but of our entire production and philosophy. It is a true demonstration of the consistently high quality of our wines over time.

  • Sette volte “tre”.

    Seven times 'Three’.

For the seventh time Giustino B. 2017 has received the prestigious 'Tre Bicchieri' award of the Vini d'Italia wineguide of Gambero Rosso. This is the tenth time that Ruggeri has been awarded the ‘Tre Bicchieri’ making the brand the first in the world of Prosecco to receive the 'star' of Gambero Rosso. A recognition that honours the value of the entire production as well as the consistent quality over time.

Giustino B.

Valdobbiadene
Prosecco Superiore

D.O.C.G. Extra Dry

Dedicated to Giustino Bisol, who founded the winery in 1950, this sparkling wine is the fruit of extensive trials and experiments with particular selections and techniques, from the vines to the bottle. The Giustino B. therefore embodies the living expression of our experience and determination in the search for the very best and of our passionate dedication to the grape itself (traditionally called Prosecco). After the first fermentation the wine matures in the big vats at a low temperature until spring and then it is transferred in the pressure-vats for the second fermentation. It remains with its yeast until the bottling that is carried on at the beginning of June. We suggest to drink it from September.

  • Vinification
White vinification, that is to say without the skins, at a controlled temperature of 18°C (64,4°F).

Vecchie Viti

Valdobbiadene
Prosecco Superiore

D.O.C.G. Brut

“This wine, obtained from the Old Vines of Valdobbiadene, the most beautiful and long-lived Prosecche, Bianchette, Verdise and Perere, would be a tribute to our country and to the memory of all men and women who, with their hands and their heart, made it an extraordinary and fertile land”. We named this wine “Vecchie Viti” (Old Vines) because it is the fruit of grapes coming from old vines scattered all over the hills of Valdobbiadene’s territory and not from a single vineyard. Of course, it is difficult to determinate with absolute precision the age of these vines, but we can say that they are between 80 and 100 years old. To produce this wine we need the cooperation of numerous farmers, owners of the best vineyards in San Pietro, Santo Stefano, Cartizze, Guia and Saccol. In winter and in spring we select about 2500 old vines that give us altogether about 5000 bottles. The wine obtained from the first fermentation, after some decanting-operations, is left together with the yeasts until spring and then it is transferred into the pressure-vat. The second fermentation is carried on slowly, with great care, and then the wine is left in contact with the yeast until a few days before the bottling, that is made at the end of June.
  • Grape Variety
    Glera 90%, Verdiso 6%, Bianchetta 2% and Perera 2%.

“Vitis etiam provectioris aetatis facit uvas meliores et melius vinum, sed facit uvas pauciores proportione suae quantitatis quam juvenis”.
Alberto Magno (1193-1280)

Santo Stefano

Valdobbiadene
Prosecco Superiore

D.O.C.G. Dry

This brilliant wine has an inviting pale greenish colour and fine strands of persistent perlage. Its delicate fruity bouquet is subtle yet persistent, with aromas of mature apples and lemon blossoms. Fresh and lightly sweet, Santo Stefano is well-structured and rounded. It is harmoniously balanced and has a long and gently fruity finish. It is the classic “ombretta trevigiana” (which could be roughly translated as the “between-meal drink of Treviso”) often drunk with pastries and cakes.
  • Grape Varieties
Glera, with small quantities of Verdiso and Perera.
  • Geographical Location
In the community of Valdobbiadene, from the historical and highly acclaimed vineyards of the best zones of Santo Stefano.
  • Harvest Period
    The second part of September.
  • Vinification
White vinification, that is to say without the skins, at a controlled temperature of 18°C (64,4°F).
  • Taking on of the Sparkle
Through slow refermentation in large sealed tanks at 12-14°C (approx. 54-57°F). Pressure behind the cork: 4,5 atm.
  • Serving Temperature
